Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>A-79- year-old man identified as Biziwick Gaveni has died after being struck by lightning at Chisoso Trading Centre in Dowa District. Public Relations Officer for Mponela Police Station sergeant Macpatson Msadala has confirmed about the fateful incident.<\/p>\n

Msadala further said that Biziwick died on 2nd December 2022 as he was coming back from funeral. \u201cIt is reported that on the said date Biziwick went to attend a funeral at Chimkoka Village and at around 14:00 hours while on his way back home it was raining. When he reached Chisoso Trading Centre he was hit by lightning and fell down.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was then picked by well-wishers who took him to Bowe health center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The matter was reported to Bowe Police unit where scene of crime was visited by Bowe Police officers and medical officer from Bowe health center who confirmed the death to be due to hermoghaphic shock.<\/p>\n

Biziwick Gaveni hailed from Kayoyola village in the area of Traditional Authority Chakhaza in Dowa district. Meanwhile, police in Mponela are advising all people to remain in doors when it is raining.<\/p>\n
