They themselves run away from being transparent and accountable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want them to be compliant and align their plans to the national or district plans,\u201d Kaliati said.<\/p>\n<p>She also called upon the faith leaders to support the government in ending cases of defilement in the country. She said it is unfortunate that even some men of God are implicated in the malpractice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ask the faith leaders to be exemplary to their followers,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>General Secretary of Evangelical Association of Malawi (ECM), Reverend Francis Mkandawire said the orientation on new regulations would enable the faith leaders understand the law better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow I think we are able to see the need for proper coordination and accountability because the government has engaged us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is so much money passing through not only in the faith community but also secular organisations but there is a gap of accountability.
