Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>There was an aura of excitement at Scott Road in Blantyre Friday as First Capital Bank partnered with The Times Group in a talent search project which will unearth unpolished gems through a television show dubbed Malawi Has Talent by FCB.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the signing ceremony at Times Entertainment Studios, The Times Group General Manager Veronica Masikini said the initiative has been created to recognise and appreciate art in all forms in the country while giving people an opportunity to develop their hidden talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cMalawi has talent. The challenge that we have as a nation is that we educate our children and expect them to go into formal employment. What we are trying to do is look at other people who can create something using what they have apart from just getting formal employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a television [station] we are in content creation. But content on its own is not going to give us money hence the partnership in Malawi Has Talent by FCB,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

First Capital Bank Head of Marketing Twikale Chirwa said they were delighted to partner the Times Group to help expose talent. \u201cFCB\u2019s moto is belief comes first.<\/p>\n

The bank believes that the Warm Heart of Africa, Malawi, has talent which is synonymous with the bank\u2019s values and brand tag line. We feel that we have an opportunity to showcase to the world the talent we have in Malawi.<\/p>\n

Through this show, we will bring to light various talents that can be used by other stakeholders in the country,\u201d he said. The Malawi Has Talent is a TV Series which will run on Times Television, a subsidiary of The Times Group and is expected to have contestants from across the country. Many people will recall that Times Television has over the years successfully carried out projects of a similar nature such as Ka Jive.<\/p>\n
