Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Super League of Malawi (Sulom) President Tiya Somba Banda has finally unveiled his manifesto, which includes the introduction of two under-23 players for every team on match day and a fully functional secretariat.<\/p>\n

The move is aimed at helping local clubs groom players while the secretariat will boost the association\u2019s operations. In the manifesto, Somba Banda has indicated that he will scrap off manual yellow and red cards clearance by teams, which, he said, is more expensive than the electronic method.<\/p>\n

Advertisement To achieve this, he said, his administration will call for an extra ordinary general meeting to change the current Sulom constitution to allow the body to have a full-time secretariat within 90 days.<\/p>\n

In an interview, Banda said his manifesto aims at improving football standards among other things, maximising gate revenue. \u201cWe will institute Mpamba Card starting April where 200 gadgets have already been secured by the sponsors TNM. Advertisement<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim is to surpass the K500 million revenue realised last season in the league and we are targeting over K600 million. So, with the sponsorship money now at K150 million and the K100 million grant from Fam [Football Association of Malawi] and Broadcasting Rights revenue, we aim to beat K123 million realised in the 2022 season. We hope to hit K1 billion, which is the true value of our league now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Somba Banda said he secured Player of the Season sponsorship where winners received prize money and either a car or piece of land. \u201cI want to call on people to support this project if our football is to further develop,\u201d he said. Somba Banda, who was elected in 2019 unopposed, will face Nyasa Big Bullets Vice President Fleetwood Haiya during the body\u2019s polls this Saturday.<\/p>\n
