Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Afro-sounds star has made a U-turn on his trademark, arguing his old moniker was bringing him bad luck in the industry. The singer Cassim Ibrahim who was known as Strongingo said he is going to be identified by his government name henceforth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am no longer interested in the Strongingo trademark. I am Cassim Ibrahim and I would love to be identified by that from now onwards,\u201d he said The artist who is famed for his hit song entitled Asovenge added that being identified by his real name is a sign of maturity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to believe that being identified by my real name signals maturity. All the successful musicians in our country are identified by their real names. Talk of Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda, Ethel Kamwendo Banda to mention but a few,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Blantyre based artist rose into stardom in 2019, thanks to his Asovenge hit. The tune became a Tick-Tok sensation in a brink of an eye. A list of his hit songs include: I Konda You, Zimawapweteka (Asovenge) and Odala. He has also managed to feature a number of big names in the industry.<\/p>\n

However, he argues that his rebranding process will not affect his style of delivery. He said: \u201cI will continue to craft the type of music I am identified by. Change of identity does not translate to change of my style.\u201d<\/p>\n
