Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>The athletes from Russia and Belarus will compete as neutrals at the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) confirmed on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs this was a decision taken by the IPC General Assembly, I expect all IPC members to fully respect it,\u201d IPC President Andrew Parsons said in a statement. \u201cWith the decision now behind us, I hope the focus, as we lead up to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, can now be very much on sport and the performances of Para athletes.”<\/p>\n

The IPC members of the General Assembly in Manama, Bahrain voted 90-56 in favor of a motion to partially suspend NPC Russia while 79-57 voted to partially suspend NPC Belarus.<\/p>\n

The Paris 2024 Paralympics will take place from Aug. 28 through Sept. 8.<\/p>\n
