Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Police in Lilongwe have arrested a Nigerian woman in connection with the murder of Reserve Bank employee Agnes Katengeza whose death last month shocked the nation.<\/p>\n

National police headquarters spokesperson Peter Kalaya say the law enforcers are keeping in custody Annie Nwozuzu Chinyere in connection with the death of Katengeza whose body was found bundled in the trunk of her abandoned KIA Sportage in Area 47 in Lilongwe on September 24, 2023 after she was reported missing the previous day.<\/p>\n

Lawyer for the suspect Chrispine Mndala said her client was arrested on September 27, 2023 and that the police also confiscated her phones.<\/p>\n

The lawyer said last Thursday she was taken to Lilongwe Magistrate Court where he applied for bail and that the court is yet to set date to make a ruling.<\/p>\n

Sources say the \u2018suspect\u2019 was picked up after the police tracked the cellphone calls of the deceased.<\/p>\n

Said the source: \u201cThe cellphone activities stopped at the house of this lady.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the police wanted to interview this lady she behaved suspicious to the point of dodging the police.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is this behaviour that motivated the police to detain her cellphones.\u201d<\/p>\n
