Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Her Royal Highness Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni, wife to His Majesty King MisuZulu kaZwelithini of the Zulu Nation in South Africa, has thanked the people of Malawi for \u201cwarmly welcoming\u201d the Zulu Royal family delegation that came to the country for this year\u2019s Umthetho Cultural Festival.<\/p>\n

The Ngoni festival took place at Hora Heritage Centre in Mzimba District on August 3.<\/p>\n

In a special message delivered yesterday on behalf of the Zulu Royal family delegation, the Queen started with thanking President Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Monica Chakwera for the warm reception accorded to her and members of her delegation.<\/p>\n

She also extended a special word of appreciation to Ngoni King Inkosi ya Makhosi M\u2019mbelwa V, his wife Nkomo and the Ngoni people for their warm embrace and kind hospitality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Zulu Royal family delegation is deeply appreciative of the hospitality and opportunity to exchange cultural experiences between our two nations. Once again, the Zulu Royal family extends its congratulations to His Majesty Inkosi ya Makhosi M\u2019mbelwa V for completing a decade at the helm of the monarch. We look forward to returning to your beautiful country,\u201d the Queen wrote.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mzimba Heritage Association Secretary General Kingsley Jere has said they are looking forward to more interactions with the Zulu Nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelcoming the Zulu Royal family to Malawi was a very memorable experience to us and we will live to remember it. These are our own cousins, our brothers and sisters. We migrated from there and settled here in Mzimba District. So this was like a reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just the beginning of the many things that we intend to do together. They have things to learn from us and we have a lot to learn from them because they have preserved their culture for many years. So, we are ready to welcome them again and we are also planning to visit them,\u201d Jere said.<\/p>\n
