{"id":71313,"date":"2025-06-25T12:09:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/malawi\/all-news\/nbm-plc-gears-up-for-smes-day"},"modified":"2025-06-25T12:09:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:09:00","slug":"nbm-plc-gears-up-for-smes-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/malawi\/all-news\/nbm-plc-gears-up-for-smes-day","title":{"rendered":"NBM plc gears up for SMEs day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc says all is set for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Day Expo set for Lilongwe over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of International SME Day celebrations and will bring together a mix of small businesses, from new startups to well-known local brands to interact and showcase their products at Gate Way Mall.<\/p>\n<p>NBM plc Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Akossa Hiwa said in an interview yesterday that the event is part of NBM plc\u2019s broader strategy to support business growth by going beyond banking and providing entrepreneurs with real-world platforms for visibility, marketing, and connection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe often hear that SMEs are the backbone of our economy, but visibility is one of the most overlooked forms of support. This Expo is about more than selling; it\u2019s about confidence, connection, and community. It\u2019s a space where small businesses can show the country what they\u2019re capable of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople can\u2019t support what they don\u2019t see. Being visible at a space like this opens new doors, and that\u2019s the kind of opportunity we\u2019re proud to offer,\u201d said Hiwa.<\/p>\n<p>Mirriam Thakwalakwa, Managing Director for MAME foods and caterers, said they are looking forward to the opportunities presented ahead for the expo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will be our first time showcasing our products with NBM plc.
