Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>At least 30 Mr Malawi Bodybuilding contestants will undergo screening this morning to be certified eligible for the event this evening. Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi (Wabam) president Arox Kamg\u2019ona said screening bodybuilders will allow them to select only the cream to flex their muscles at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (Kuhes) Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

\u201cScreening is a vital process where we sift bodybuilders. This allows judges to choose bodybuilders that have a well built and defined body to flex their muscles. However, we are pleased that 30 bodybuilders have registered to compete,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kamg\u2019ona said they have lined up different activities to make this year\u2019s event memorable. \u201cWe will also have a dance group and other performances to keep the patrons entertained,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Artist Piksy is expected to perform to spice up the event. Kamg\u2019ona hailed Old Mutual, Kips and Sports Complex for supporting his year\u2019s competition. This year\u2019s champion will pocket K1.2 million cash and a year-long food voucher valued at K800,000.<\/p>\n

However, Wabam did not release the list of bodybuilders that have registered to battle for the crown. Sources indicated that defending champion Chisomo Kajamu will not defend the title. However, well-known bodybuilders such as Emmanuel Muhuwa, Frazer Zeka and the People\u2019s bodybuilder Yasin \u2018Ichocho\u2019 Suwedi have registered to compete.<\/p>\n

Wabam General Secretary Doreen \u2018Dee\u2019 Kumbatira, who has been earmarked to also parade to woo ladies into the sport, was in South Africa and doubted if she will arrive in time to attend the event<\/p>\n
