Africa-Press – Mali. <\/strong><\/span>Le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019ONU, Antonio Guterres, a r\u00e9clam\u00e9 jeudi au gouvernement malien \u201cun calendrier \u00e9lectoral acceptable\u201d, \u00e0 la veille de manifestations dans le pays, \u00e0 l\u2019appel de la junte au pouvoir, pour d\u00e9noncer les sanctions r\u00e9centes prises par la C\u00e9d\u00e9ao.<\/p>\n

\u201cIl est absolument essentiel que le gouvernement malien pr\u00e9sente un calendrier acceptable du point de vue des \u00e9lections\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le chef de l\u2019ONU lors d\u2019une rencontre avec des journalistes. Il a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 esp\u00e9rer \u201centrer en contact rapidement avec le gouvernement malien\u201d.<\/p>\n

Si \u201cun calendrier acceptable est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 et si le gouvernement prend des mesures dans cette direction, il y aura une lev\u00e9e progressive des sanctions\u201d \u2014 fermeture des fronti\u00e8res, mesures \u00e9conomiques et financi\u00e8res \u2014 par la Communaut\u00e9 \u00e9conomique des Etats de l\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest (C\u00e9d\u00e9ao), a rappel\u00e9 Antonio Guterres.<\/p>\n

\u201cJe travaille avec la C\u00e9d\u00e9ao et l\u2019Union africaine pour cr\u00e9er les conditions qui puissent permettre au gouvernement du Mali d\u2019adopter une position raisonnable et acceptable pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer une transition qui dure d\u00e9j\u00e0 depuis longtemps\u201d, a-t-il aussi dit.<\/p>\n

Cela pourrait \u201cpermettre un r\u00e9tablissement de la normalit\u00e9 dans les relations entre cet Etat et la communaut\u00e9 internationale, la C\u00e9d\u00e9ao en particulier\u201d, a-t-il estim\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un deuxi\u00e8me coup d\u2019Etat en mai 2021, la junte militaire malienne ne pr\u00e9voit plus d\u2019\u00e9lections le 27 f\u00e9vrier comme elle s\u2019y \u00e9tait engag\u00e9e et projette une transition qui pourrait durer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cinq ans.<\/p>\n

Cette position a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement condamn\u00e9e par la communaut\u00e9 internationale, la Russie ayant de son c\u00f4t\u00e9 affich\u00e9 de la \u201ccompr\u00e9hension\u201d \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des autorit\u00e9s maliennes et de la difficult\u00e9 d\u2019organiser des \u00e9lections dans un Etat o\u00f9 prolif\u00e8rent des groupes arm\u00e9s<\/p>\n
