Africa-Press – Mali. <\/strong><\/span>Le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Laurent Michon, commandant de la force fran\u00e7aise Barkhane, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 vendredi \u00e0 Ouagadougou qu\u2019il n\u2019y aura \u201cabsolument pas de red\u00e9ploiement\u201d au Niger de cette force qui est en train de se retirer du Mali.<\/p>\n

\u201cLe retrait de Barkhane ne consiste pas \u00e0 se repositionner au Niger, mais \u00e0 se retirer du Mali\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michon lors d\u2019une conf\u00e9rence de presse. \u201cIl n\u2019y a absolument pas de red\u00e9ploiement ou de repositionnement de Barkhane au Niger\u201d, a-t-il insist\u00e9.<\/p>\n

La France maintiendra dans ce pays \u201cla base a\u00e9rienne dans son dispositif actuel, ni plus, ni moins\u201d, selon lui. Cependant, a-t-il pr\u00e9cis\u00e9, un dispositif pourra par la suite \u201c\u00eatre adapt\u00e9 au Niger sur la demande des autorit\u00e9s militaires nigeriennes (\u2026) une fois que l\u2019approbation politique du soutien occidental sera obtenu\u201d.<\/p>\n

Le chef de la force Barkhane a par ailleurs annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019outre les soldats fran\u00e7ais pr\u00e9sents au Mali, \u201cles contingents italiens et su\u00e9dois vont rentrer en Europe\u201d. Concernant le retrait de Barkhane du Mali, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michon a assur\u00e9 que cela \u201cva se passer en coordination avec l\u2019\u00e9tat-major malien, le but \u00e9tant de le faire le plus vite possible, mais en \u00e9vitant le vide s\u00e9curitaire\u201d et \u00eatre \u201cs\u00fbr\u201d que les forces arm\u00e9es du Mali \u201cviendront prendre les postes de Gao, Menaka et Gossi o\u00f9 nous sommes d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s aujourd\u2019hui\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cL\u2019avenir de Barkhane se construira avec les capitales africaines qui le souhaitent, dans une zone qui sera \u00e9tendue avec le Golfe de Guin\u00e9e\u201d, a-t-il dit. \u201cOn va continuer la lutte avec les pays qui souhaitent notre appui. Nous souhaitons continuer \u00e0 rassurer les forces arm\u00e9es, la Minusma (mission de l\u2019ONU au Mali) la force du G5 (Sahel), en apportant un appui par les airs ou tout autre moyen, \u00e0 leurs propres missions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Selon lui, le groupe jihadiste Etat islamique qui frappe dans plusieurs pays du Sahel, \u201cest en train de se recomposer\u201d, car \u201csi la hi\u00e9rarchie a \u00e9t\u00e9 atteinte, le jeu du renouvellement, si rien n\u2019est fait, fera que la menace recommencera \u00e0 cro\u00eetre\u201d. Quelque 2.400 militaires fran\u00e7ais sont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s au Mali, sur un total de 4.600 au Sahel.<\/p>\n

Le 17 f\u00e9vrier, le pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais Emmanuel Macron avait annonc\u00e9 leur retrait \u201cen raison des multiples obstructions des autorit\u00e9s de transition maliennes\u201d, des militaires qui ont pris le pouvoir par la force en 2020 et avec lesquelles les relations avec Paris n\u2019ont cess\u00e9 de se d\u00e9grader.<\/p>\n
