Agro-processing at the fore of discussions between Minister Gobin and Minister Joubert

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Attorney General, Minister of Agro-Industry and Food Security, Mr Maneesh Gobin, met, yesterday in his office in Port Louis, the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr Flavien P. Joubert, and the latter’s Principal Secretary, Mr Kenneth Racombo.

In a statement, Minister Joubert highlighted that the meeting with Minister Gobin was cordial and focused on the exchange of experience in the field of agro-processing and agriculture, as well as on several other avenues of cooperation between Mauritius and Seychelles.

Mr Joubert further underlined that Mauritius is willing to share its experience with Seychelles by providing training though the Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute.

He also conceded that Mauritius and Seychelles have a lot to share for their mutual benefit and expressed the wish that his country is as successful as Mauritius in the agriculture sector.

He also expressed confidence that both countries will enhance their already good relation, especially in the field of agriculture and agro-processing.

It is recalled that the delegation from Seychelles is visiting Mauritius in the context of the launching of the First Regional Steering Committee meeting of the Joint SDG Fund Project.
