Africa-Press – Mauritius. The tourism industry is steadily improving with recovery rates of 81% and 82% for the months of July and August 2022, stated the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Land Use Planning, Minister of Tourism, Mr Louis Steven Obeegadoo.

He was speaking at a ceremony to mark the rebranding of Angasana Balaclava Hotel to Le Jadis Beach Resort and Wellness, held on Friday 09 September 2022 in Balaclava.

He congratulated the group for the long arduous work throughout their journey. The rebranding exercise, he said, is in line with Government’s policy to uplift the tourism industry so as to reach out to high end market of world tourism.

The Deputy Prime Minister spoke of the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry and dwelt on two major challenges faced by the tourism sector, namely, consolidating existing key markets and encouraging tourists from Reunion Island, China and India to visit Mauritius as well as enhancing the country’s air connectivity.

The hotel comprises 54 stylish suites, private infinity pools, heated pools and an award-winning spa for a marvellous rejuvenating experience and culinary art at its very best with four restaurants and two bar lounges. All these assets, Mr Obeegadoo indicated will ensure the success of the new establishment.
