Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Tourism of Ivory Coast, Mr. Siandou Fofana, met the Prime Minister, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, this afternoon at the New Treasury Building, in Port-Louis.
In a statement, Mr Siandou Fofana underpinned the main objective of his mission to Mauritius which is to enhance the existing relations of brotherhood and friendship between the two countries as well as to further expand joint economic ventures.
He added that he spoke with Prime Minister Jugnauth about the keenness of his Government to partner with Mauritius to unlock mutually benefitting opportunities for local enterprises to face the ongoing challenges on the global landscape.
The Minister recalled that Ivory Coast is the world’s leading producer of various raw materials including cocoa, kola nut and rubber. He discussed with the Prime Minister the possibility for Mauritius to join the value chain of this economy.
Minister Fofana affirmed that through the combination of mutual efforts in both bilateral and multilateral ventures, both countries can accelerate the transformation of their respective economy. The African South-South economic cooperation should become a model of success for the world, he emphasised.
