The construction works undertaken for the setting up of the New Traffic Center in Réduit are expected to be completed by the third week of December 2022, announced the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, this afternoon.
He made this statement after a site visit at the New Traffic Centre in Réduit to take stock of the ongoing construction works. Minister Ganoo informed that various stakeholders including officers of the Ministry of Land Transport and Light Rail, the Traffic Management and Road Safety Unit (TMRSU), the Mauritius Police force, and the Metro Express Ltd are collaborating with regards to the implementation of the project.
He emphasised that the Traffic Center is being set up as a modern and secured facility that will cater for the safety of all road users. Mr Alan Ganoo further indicated that the TMRSU has designed all the required features and amenities such as pedestrian crossing to ensure the security of its users, and added that the construction works are being undertaken by Transinvest Construction Ltd.
New Traffic Center A budget of Rs 10 million has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The New Traffic Center will integrate the Bus Terminal to the Metro Station and will include an alighting platform adjacent to the Metro Station, and a traffic signal system along with a boarding platform.
