Africa-Press – Mauritius. Mr. Dheerujlall Baramlall Seetulsingh has taken oath as the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission under the Protection of Human Rights Act, this morning, before the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the State House in Réduit.

In a statement, Mr. Seetulsingh stated that he will contribute to the ongoing mission of protecting and promoting Human Rights. He indicated that several campaigns regarding the promotion of Human Rights are being carried out among children, youths, elderlies and women.

Furthermore, Mr. Chuveeraj Naïk took oath as Member of the Human Rights Division of the National Human Rights Commission. He stated that he is looking forward to share his experience in the field of social work during the performance of his new duties.

Mr. Joseph Gabriel Michel Vieillesse, also took oath as Member of the National Preventive Mechanism Division of the National Human Rights Commission. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, for entrusting him with this responsibility and pledged to work for the benefit of the Nation.
