Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, received, at his office, in Port Louis, yesterday, 05 December 2022, the newly appointed United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Mauritius and Seychelles, Ms Lisa Simrique Singh.
The UN Resident Coordinator has years of experience in international development in Asia and Africa continents, and significant senior policy expertise, advising governments on issues of economic transformation, regional integration, sustainable development and disaster and climate risk resilience.
It is recalled that Ms Lisa Simrique Singh took up her post on 11 November 2022, following her appointment by the UN Secretary-General, Mr Antonio Guterres.
Previously, she served as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative ad interim in the Republic of Chad. Before, she worked as UNDP Director of Programme and Deputy Resident Representative in the Republic of Mali.
