Africa-Press – Mauritius. Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth began his official mission this Monday, December 12, as part of the United States-Africa Leaders Summit, to be held in the American capital, Washington D.

The Mauritian and American side reviewed the existing relations between the two countries and the discussions also focused on other avenues of possible cooperation. This Monday, December 12, Mr.

Pravind Jugnauth also took part in a dinner offered by the Atlantic Council, a think tank that brings together several personalities and professionals from the worlds of business and politics.

This event allowed African Heads of State and Government to interact and get to know members of the American Congress, senior State Department officials as well as captains of industry and the private sector.

, the idea being to generate more cooperation between Africa and the United States on several subjects of global stakes.

The guests thus had the opportunity to discuss mutual values such as democracy, respect for human rights, peace and security. Global health and climate change issues were also discussed.

During this event, the Prime Minister met several personalities including Frederick Kempe, President of the Atlantic Council, Rama Yade, Director of the African branch of the Atlantic Council or Dilawar Syed, Special Representative at the Economic and United States Commercial Affairs.
