The Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister for Rodrigues, Outer Islands and Territorial Integrity, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, attended, today, the national celebrations marking the Thaipoosam Cavadee at the Arul Migou Sockalingum Meenatchee Ammen Tirukovil commonly known as Kaylassum in Port Louis.
The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, the Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon, Members of Parliament namely Mrs Subhasnee Luchmun Roy and Mrs Marie Joanne Sabrina Tour, the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Xavier Luc Duval as well as the Indian High Commissioner, Mrs Nandini Singla were among the eminent personalities present.
Thaipoosam Cavadee 2023 is being celebrated, today, 04 February 2023 at national level in several temples across the country. The fasting period started on 26 January 2023.
