Africa-Press – Mauritius. The recreation programme ‘Vakans’, that consists of a series of leisure activities organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation for all youngsters during Easter Holidays 2023, was launched, yesterday, by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, at the Blue-Bay Public Beach.

The activities will span up to Sunday 23 April 2023. In a statement, the Sports Minister pointed out that ‘Vakans’ offers a range of fun activities to the public and urged all youngsters to participate in the four Fun Beach Games that will be held on 10, 12 and 13 April 2023 from 10h00 to 15h00.

He indicated that these will be held at the Belle Mare Public Beach, Mont Choisy Public Beach, Flic en Flac Public Beach and Blue Bay Public Beach, where various sports equipment including canoe for kayaking, will be available.

Minister Toussaint encouraged all those who are interested to indulge in the leisure activities to register online via the Ministry’s Facebook page and on the App Zens.

Other activities comprise: A Coastal Hike to be held on Tuesday 11 April 2023 from Tamarin Public beach to Flic en Flac Outdoor Centre at 10h00; A Fun Games and Youth Concert on Thursday 13 April at Blue Bay Beach Arena as from 12h00; and

A visit La Vanille Nature Park at Rivière des Anguilles from Thursday 06 to Friday 14 April 2023 at a rebate price of Rs 250. ‘Vakans’ will end with a Final of Regatta League and Musical Concert on Sunday 23 April 2023 at Mahebourg Waterfront as from 10h00.
