Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Kenya National Team, Harambee Stars, head coach Engin Firat has named the provisional squad for the Four Nations Tournament to be held in Mauritius between June 11 and 18, 2023. The 30-man provisional squad consist of local-based and foreign-based players.
Among the new faces that have received their maiden call-ups to the national team are Simon Masaka (Sofapaka), Kevin Luke Otiala (Kariobangi Sharks), Charles Ouma (Kenya Police), and Moses Shummah (Kakamega Homeboyz).
Their inclusion reflects Firat’s commitment to injecting fresh energy into the team. In addition, Brian Bwire (Tusker), Robinson Kamura (Kakamega Homeboyz), and Bonface Omondi (Gor Mahia) have returned to the national team, bringing vital experience and depth to the side.
Stars kick off residential training on Monday, June 5, and are set to depart for Mauritius on June 10, 2023. They will face the hosts, Mauritius, Djibouti, and Pakistan.
Coach Firat has chosen this squad with the impending CAF and FIFA duties in mind. Furthermore, the Four Nations Tournament allows players to demonstrate their abilities.
