Africa-Press – Mauritius. The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of France to Mauritius, Mr Frédéric Bontems, presented his credentials, this afternoon, to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the State House in Le Réduit.
In a statement, the French Ambassador said that it is a privilege for him to present his credentials as the new Ambassador of the French Republic to President Roopun.
He highlighted that France and Mauritius share warm and rich relations that are anchored in friendship ties and that are based on common history and mutual respect.
Mr Frédéric Bontems also dwelt on his resolve as he takes his new post of Ambassador of the French Republic to Mauritius, to work on reinforcing the bilateral relations between the two countries.
As regards his meeting with President Roopun, the French Ambassador underlined that the discussion focused on the bilateral relations of the two countries, regional and international matters and challenges that the world is facing, and encompassed issues such as global warming and globalisation. The need to work together to address common challenges, he said, was also brought forth during their discussion.
