Africa-Press – Mauritius. The High Commissioner of Nigeria to Mauritius, HE Yamah Mohammed Musa, paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Honourable Maneesh Gobin on Friday 27 October 2023 at the Ministry.
The High Commissioner presented his credentials to Mauritius in March 2022. Minister Maneesh Gobin and High Commissioner Yamah Mohammed Musa exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues. Both sides are committed to strengthen economic and political ties.
The discussions centered around several key topics, including higher education, the growing interest for Nigerian students to pursue higher studies in Mauritius and the potential for raising economic exchanges between the two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade highlighted Nigeria’s thriving movie industry and expressed a desire for Nigerian producers to take advantage of incentives offered through the Film Rebate Scheme, encouraging them to consider Mauritius as a prime shooting location. Mauritius and Nigeria collaborate on issues of common interest at the level of regional, continental and international fora.
