Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Special Striking Team has been dismantled. The head of the’unity, SP Ashik Jagai has been transferred to the’Eastern Division since yesterday. Currently he is in ‘vacation leave’ and on his return he is expected to take up his new duties in the’est of the country on January 15, 2025.
Since the victory of the’Alliance du Change in the legislative elections of November 10, this unit of the police force was in the spotlight. Moreover, Ashik Jagai had housed a Precautionary Measure, arguing that’il feared that’il would be pressured to destroy the evidence in several cases.
At’heure, it is up to us that several other elements of the SST and Special Intelligence Cell have also been transferred to different divisions across the country. Namely that’a wave of transfers is underway in the police force since the departure of the Jugnauth government.
