Africa-PressMauritius. A collection of 30 poems, entitled ‘From Humanism to Spirituality’, penned by Mr Krishnanand Gupta, was launched, this afternoon, by the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck in the presence of Lady Sarojini Jugnauth, during a ceremony held at Sodnac.

In his address, Minister Teeluck congratulated the author for his literary accomplishment, with the publication of his second collection. He underlined the achievement of Mr Krishnanand Guptar in his professional life, and in the artistic sphere.

The Minister also lauded Mr Guptar’s contribution and service to the Government as he served as a public officer in different postings, including as a Financial Secretary.

Minister Teeluck emphasised that the author is again serving the country today, in particular children as well as generations to come, by leaving behind his artistic legacy.

Through his writings and by sharing his experience, Mr Guptar is sharing with us guiding principles of spirituality, he said. As for Mr Krishnanand Guptar, he dwelt on the events that inspired him to write the poems, namely his enlightenment following two surgical operations in 2005.

The poems, he said, are all inspired from real-life experiences and convey messages on various aspects of life. All poems in this collection are inspired by the pledge I took to myself to spread the message of spirituality to the world, he stressed.

From ‘Humanism to Spirituality’ is the second collection of poems being published by the author after ‘Between Earth and Sky’ written in 1975 and released in 1976. The present collection expresses the spiritual thoughts and vision of the author in a poetic language.
