Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Muvman Liberater (ML) leadership met on Thursday to discuss the concerning situation surrounding their alliance leader. They concluded that, based on the principles established by the MSM leader, their alliance leader should step back from their leadership role.
The meeting also addressed the situation of the Deputy Mayor of Vacoas/Phœnix. Applying the same principles, the ML believes she should temporarily relinquish her duties, especially the acting mayor role, pending investigations.
The ML disagrees with Mayor Mike Mangard’s public support for his deputy, though they understand his intent. However, they support Councilman Ridwan Beeharry’s request to the Chief Executive and the Deputy Mayor for her temporary withdrawal, emphasizing the importance of public morality.
The ML’s statement highlights their disagreement with the Mayor’s stance, supporting instead a temporary step back for the Deputy Mayor until the investigation concludes to uphold public standards of ethics.
The ML is closely monitoring the situation and its impact on their alliance membership. Their position emphasizes ethical conduct and accountability in the face of ongoing investigations.
