Africa-Press – Mauritius. African Nations Championship (CHAN) co-hosts Uganda will open their campaign against North African giants Algeria on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The fixtures were announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday, in conjunction with the Local Organising Committees of the three host nations — Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

According to the released match schedule, the tournament will kick off on Saturday, August 2, in Dar es Salaam with a fixture between co-hosts Tanzania and Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT).

On Sunday, August 3, Nairobi will host two matches. Kenya will play their opening fixture at 15:00 local time (12:00 GMT) against the Democratic Republic of Congo at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. Later at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT), Morocco will take on Angola at Nyayo Stadium.

At 20:00 (17:00 GMT), action will return to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Madagascar will face Mauritania in a bumper Sunday of action.

The opening matches in Kampala will be played on Monday, August 4, when co-hosts Uganda meet Algeria at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT). Before that, Niger will play Guinea at 17:00 local time (14:00 GMT) at the same venue.

The third-place play-off will be held in Kampala on Friday, August 29, at Namboole Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT). Nairobi’s Kasarani will host the final the following day, Saturday, August 30, at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
