Africa-Press – Mauritius. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Napoli has rejected a €70 million offer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
Romano claims that on Friday, Galatasaray made a formal offer that included bank records to ensure the payment.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, quickly rejected the proposition despite the attempt, maintaining his €75 million valuation of the player.
“Understand Napoli have now rejected four new formal proposals sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen,” Romano posted via his official X account.
“Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees… Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and he has rejected.”
Galatasaray’s fourth attempt to sign the highly regarded forward, who was instrumental in Napoli’s 2022–2023 Serie A title campaign, was unsuccessful.
Osimhen is still one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, drawing interest from a number of elite teams because of his physical presence, deadly finishing, and reliable play.
In the transfer market, the 25-year-old still commands a lot of attention despite injury setbacks throughout the 2023–24 season.
It’s unclear if Galatasaray or any other suitor will come back with a better offer that matches Napoli’s valuation as the summer window goes on.
