Africa-Press – Mauritius. “No member of the MMM wants a break”. Assurance given by the secretary general of the MMM, Rajesh Bhagwan at the end of the party’s political bureau, this Monday, November 10.
Rajesh Bhagwan, however, insisted that the political bureau will meet this Friday if necessary.
After several days of strong tensions at the top of the government, the Alliance of Change narrowly avoided a break between its two principals pillars: the Labor Party (PTr) and the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM). The crisis would have been defused following an official meeting, Thursday, November 7, between the Prime Minister and leader of the PTr, Navin Ramgoolam, and the Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the MMM, Paul Bérenger.
