Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Elective General Assembly will be hosted at the 5-star Djibouti Palace Kempinski on February 7th, 2026.
Jean Sseninde, the CECAFA Interim Executive Director made the communication on Wednesday.
“After consultations with our hosts the Fédération Djiboutienne de Football, we have agreed that the Elective Assembly which will attract representatives from all the 12 Members Associations will take place at the Djibouti Palace Kempinski,” added Sseninde.
The General Assembly will also approve the 2026 CECAFA budget and adopt the CECAFA competitions calendar 2026 among others things.
“We have also released the provisional list of candidates for the different positions in accordance with the CECAFA Statutes and Electoral regulations,” explained Sseninde.
The President of the Burundi Football Federation, Alexandre Muyenge is currently the Acting President of CECAFA.
The 12 members of CECAFA include; Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Sudan and Zanzibar.
