The strengthening of judicial cooperation between Mauritius and Madagascar was at the core of discussions between the Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam and the Minister of Justice of Madagascar, Mrs Fanirisoa Ernaivo, this afternoon at the New Treasury Building in Port-Louis
Discussions focused on key avenues of cooperation as well as shared interests of both parties including bolstering economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister pointed out that she discussed the issue of clandestine employment of Malagasy workers in Mauritius, emphasising that her Government endeavours to provide proper training and development of skills to this pool of labour so that they gain employment as qualified workers so as to work under proper conditions.
Moreover, Mrs Fanirisoa Ernaivo indicated that both parties spoke of the possibility of facilitating the processes of application and admission of Malagasy students in educational institutions in Mauritius.
Minister Fanirisoa Ernaivo underlined that Prime Minister Ramgoolam expressed his support to the refoundation of Madagascar.
