Africa-Press – Mauritius. National awards were presented to National Day Awardees by the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, in presence of the Prime Minister, Mr.
Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, this afternoon, during a ceremony held at the State House in Le Réduit. The Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Marie Cyril Eddy Boissézon, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Land Use Planning, Minister of Tourism, Mr.
Louis Steven Obeegadoo, were also present on the occasion. The National award of the Grand Commander of The Order of The Star and Key of The Indian Ocean (G. C. S. K) was conferred to:
Mr.
Jagdish Dharamchand Koonjul, for valuable contribution in the field of diplomacy, particularly for the effective completion of the decolonisation process of Mauritius; and
Mr.
Philippe Sands, for valuable contribution for the effective completion of the decolonisation process of Mauritius
The National award of the Grand Officer of The Order of The Star and Key of The Indian Ocean (G.
O. S. K) was conferred to:
Mr. Soleman Mamode Hatteea, in recognition of his outstanding service. The National award of the Commander of The Order of The Star and Key of The Indian Ocean (C.
S. K) was conferred to:
Mr. Shehzad Abdulla Ahmed, for distinguished contribution in the field of business;
Mr. Karl Brasse, for contribution in the field of music; and
Mr.
Radhakrishna Chellapermal, for contribution in the public service. The National award of the Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (O.
S. K) was conferred to:
Dr. Laldeo Ancharug, for dedicated service to the Government;
Mr. Reshad Bhaukaurally, for distinguished service to the community;
Late Dr.
Chiung Miow Cheong, (represented by Ms. C. P. V Cheong) for distinguished service in the medical field; and
Mr. Yoganundsingh Dabeedyal, for contribution in the social field.
The National award of the Member of The Order of The Star and Key of The Indian Ocean (M. S. K) was conferred to:
Mrs. Marie Christiane Milene Abdool-Kader, for contribution in the social field;
Late Mrs.
Géraldine Joelle Aliphon, (represented by Mr. M. Aliphon) for contribution in the social field;
Mr. Brown Appadoo, for dedicated service to the community;
Mr.
Percy Andrew Appadoo, for contribution in the field of music;
Mr. Dhanraj Aukhez, for long and dedicated service in the Government; and
Mr. Gajananrow Bappoo, for distinguished service to the community.
The President’s Distinguished Service Medal (P. D. S. M) was presented to:
Mr. Seetuldeo Balgobin, for contribution in the health sector; and
Mr. Chandregupte Chooramun, for contribution in the field of architecture.
The President’s Meritorious Service Medal (P. M. S. M) was presented to:
Mrs. Jayboon Neesah Abdoola, for long and meritorious service;
Mr. Somduth Singh Burruth, for long and meritorious service;
Mr.
Deonarain Busunt, for long and meritorious service; and
Mr. Maheshwarsingh Chackhoor, for valuable and meritorious service in the public service. The President’s Badge of Honour was presented to Mrs.
Bibi Nazma Auladin, for long and meritorious service
The President’s Certificate of Honour was presented to Late Mr Deochan Bissoondial (represented by Ms. T. Bissoondial), for long and meritorious service and Mr Aboo Swalay Bhukoo, for long and meritorious service.
