The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) is set to conduct a mission in Mauritius from April 21 to 23, 2026, to promote its e-filing system. This initiative aims to enhance the use of digital services for intellectual property applications, improving efficiency and transparency. Workshops will provide guidance to users.

With a view of sensitising users to digital intellectual property services, the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) will field a mission to Mauritius from 21 to 23 April 2026 as part of its ongoing initiative to promote the use of its e-filing system. ARIPO e-filing system was launched in 2015.

The mission aims to enhance the uptake of the e-filing platform, which enables users to submit applications for intellectual property titles online, make electronic payments, and track the progress of their applications in real time. The initiative will to improve efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in the management of intellectual property services.

As part of the programme, an e-filing service sensitisation workshop will be organised targeting intellectual property agents, attorneys, and other potential users of the ARIPO system. The workshop will provide participants with practical guidance on navigating the platform and maximising its benefits.

In addition, a capacity-building session under the Member States module will be held at the Intellectual Property Office for the benefit of its technical staff. This session will focus on strengthening technical competencies and enhancing the effective administration of the e-filing system at the national level.

The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) was established to promote intellectual property rights across its member states. Since launching its e-filing system in 2015, ARIPO has aimed to modernize the application process for intellectual property rights, making it more accessible and efficient for users. The upcoming mission to Mauritius reflects ARIPO’s commitment to enhancing digital services and supporting member states in adopting these technologies effectively. This initiative is part of a broader trend towards digital transformation in intellectual property management across Africa.
