FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed profound sorrow following the tragic death of Berekum Chelsea forward Dominic Frimpong, who was fatally shot during a violent armed robbery attack on the club’s team bus last Sunday. The shocking incident occurred as the team was returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture, sending waves of grief across the football community in Ghana and beyond.
In an official statement released, Infantino said he was “deeply saddened” by the loss of the 20-year-old attacker, describing the circumstances surrounding his death as both tragic and distressing. “I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Berekum Chelsea Football Club’s Dominic Frimpong following a reported attack on the team while returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture,” Infantino stated.
