Alias: This is the new service launched by Mauritius Telecom to ensure the anonymity of its customers when it comes to recharging their prepaid plan. The launch took place at the Telecom Tower in Port Louis on Thursday, July 22, during an event bringing together E-vouchers resellers and the MT team, including Mauritius Telecom Chief Executive Sherry Singh.

The Alias service provides security and confidentiality during mobile top-ups, allowing its customers to fund their prepaid account without having to disclose their phone number. A “fun” commercial, simple, but explicit, was broadcast on the occasion to introduce those present to the simplicity of this umpteenth MT innovation.

Indeed, the customer just has to dial * 200 # to receive his Alias on his mobile. Alias is a unique code that he will use each time he has to top up his account.

The CEO of MT has, therefore, announced that the organization he heads will be even more present commercially as well as socially this year.

With this in mind, resellers were rewarded this afternoon through a ‘Lucky Draw’ organized in February and which made it possible to offer a total of Rs 2.1 M to the 5 winners. The big winner of a check for one million Rupees is named Shamsheer Peerbocus, manager of Le Cabana in Chemin-Grenier. The other 4 winners took home Rs 500,000, Rs 300,000, Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively.

As a reminder, the raffle rewarding the best E-Voucher resellers, over the period October 2020 to January 2021, was organized to support the latter during the post-Covid period. Sherry Singh points out that “li important ki zordi, kan li bann difficult time akoz his pandemic the ki nou shoulder nou bann partners”.

He also announced that the Bonus E-Voucher Scheme will be extended for the period from July 2021 to January 2022.
