Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Republic of Mauritius has announced waiving off the requirement of producing a negative PCR test for all incoming visitors. Earlier, fully vaccinated travellers were also required to show a negative PCR test that had been taken within 72 hours before departure, to gain entry into Mauritius.<\/p>\n

Reports have it that the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Mauritius has scrapped this requirement as of March 12, 2022. With this move, travelling to this Indian Ocean Island will become much easier for both leisure and business travellers.<\/p>\n

Referring to this, Director of Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority Arvind Bundhun, said that they are delighted that the Ministry of Health and Wellness has reviewed the sanitary protocol for visitors to Mauritius.<\/p>\n

This will in turn automatically enrich the experience of travelling to Mauritius as travelling will now become far easier and streamlined, he added. This move will further likely boost tourism as demand for travel to Mauritius is currently ramping up, the Director added.<\/p>\n

Reports have it that demand from business and leisure travellers has soared since last October following the reopening of its borders, which coincided with the relaxation of travel restrictions in many of Mauritius\u2019 key markets.<\/p>\n

If reports are to go by, around 90% of Mauritius\u2019 adult population has been fully vaccinated, while the booster dose is also picking up momentum in the island nation.<\/p>\n
