Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>Mauritius is now part of the RIA network, the third largest money transfer operator in the world. The American brand is starting its operations on Mauritian territory thanks to an agreement concluded with Mauritius Post.<\/p>\n

The official launch was held yesterday at the new headquarters of the Post Office, Sir William Newton, in Port Louis, in front of an audience of guests including the Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, Yogida Sawmynaden .<\/p>\n

Present in 150 countries through a vast network of 321,000 agents and shops, RIA offers users a fast, affordable and above all reliable alternative for transferring money abroad.<\/p>\n

Having fulfilled all the conditions required to obtain its license from the Bank of Mauritius, La Poste is now strengthening its image as a service provider in the financial and non-banking postal segments.<\/p>\n

Initially, the new money transfer service will be available in five post offices: Port-Louis, Curepipe, Quatre Bornes, Grand-Baie and Center de Flacq. This offer will gradually be extended to other Mauritius Post offices across the island.<\/p>\n

In order to offer the service excellence that characterizes the RIA brand throughout the world, Mauritius Post staff have received adequate training provided by RIA representatives. The RIA offer in Mauritius wants to stand out in the market by relying on the omnipresence of the physical network of Mauritius Post.<\/p>\n

The fact that the Post enjoys a high degree of trust among the public is also considered a considerable asset, as well as competitive pricing made possible by lower operational costs.<\/p>\n

“Through this partnership with RIA, we confirm our ambition to offer customers the widest possible range of financial and non-postal services in order to transform our offices into real smart shops”, underlines Giandev Moteea, Chief Executive Officer of Mauritius.<\/p>\n

Its 113 post offices, including five in Rodrigues and one in Agalega, also offer a wide range of postal and non-postal services, including payment of the car tax and public utility receipts.<\/p>\n

RIA Money Transfer, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide Company, is the third largest money transfer operator in the world and is today part of an industry with flows of more than 575 billion dollars.<\/p>\n
