Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Ambassador-Designate of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Mauritius, Mr Jarr Inalla, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, today, at the State House in R\u00e9duit.<\/p>\n

In a statement after the meeting, Mr Jarr Inalla highlighted that discussions with President Roopun focused on several areas of cooperation namely fisheries, agriculture, and education.<\/p>\n

He stated that the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on all spheres of life were also touched upon. Furthermore, the Ambassador-Designate stated that he discussed with the President about the Sahel conflict which is causing instability in the region.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the Sahel region is at the heart of an unprecedented surge in violence and instability that is increasingly expanding into neighbouring West African countries.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Mr Jarr Inalla had presented his copie d\u2019usage to the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in Port Louis. Mr Jarr Inalla was Ambassador, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation from 2018 to 2020.<\/p>\n

He was First Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Mauritania to the Office of the United Nations and International Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland from 2015 to 2016.<\/p>\n

He also occupied the post of First Counsellor at the Mauritanian Embassy in Paris, France, and Tokyo, Japan, from 2013 to 2015 and 2006 to 2013 respectively.<\/p>\n
