Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, met, this afternoon at the headquarters of his Ministry in Port Louis, the newly appointed Chairperson of the Mauritius Telugu Cultural Centre Trust (MTCCT), Mr Atmanand Mahunthy Aatma Ramanah, as well as other Members of the Board.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Minister Teeluck highlighted that the new MTCCT Board had recently been reconstituted for a period of three years. \u201cThis Board,\u201d he observed, \u201caims at preserving and promoting the Telugu culture in Mauritius.<\/p>\n

\u201d He pointed out that the objective of the meeting with the Board Members was to understand their vision and to discuss how his Ministry could support them in their activities.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Minister underscored that this meeting was also an opportunity to launch one of MTCCT\u2019s activities, in the context of Ugadi celebrations, namely the screening of the Telugu movie \u2018RRR\u2019 in Mauritius.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event,\u201d he emphasised, \u201ccontributes to the promotion of the Telugu culture and as such, the movie will be played simultaneously in seven movie halls of MCine on 30 April 2022.<\/p>\n

For his part, MTCCT\u2019s Chairperson underscored that the idea of screening the movie \u2018RRR\u2019 in Mauritius emerged as Telugu people were very fond of movies directed by Indian filmmaker, Mr S. S. Rajamouli.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition,\u201d he underlined, \u201cthe Ugadi celebrations were held in a different manner this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, in a bid to adapt to the new normal, it has been decided that the movie \u2018RRR\u2019 would be screened at the same day and time to gather a maximum number of people in strict observance of the prevailing sanitary protocols.<\/p>\n

Mr Ramanah also stressed that, as at date, more than 800 people had already booked their tickets, each sold at Rs 100, to watch the movie at the 17 00 hrs session on 30 April 2022 at MCine in Trianon, Caudan and Flacq.<\/p>\n

About RRR movie The \u2018RRR\u2019 (Rise Roar Revolt) movie was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and a few other languages. Directed by Mr S. S.<\/p>\n

Rajamouli, \u2018RRR\u2019 is a fictional story about two of India’s legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought for their country against the British Raj in the 1920\u2019s.<\/p>\n
