Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity, organised, today, at its headquarters in Port-Louis, an induction programme for 20 Social Security Officers who joined the service on 13 June 2022.<\/p>\n

Present at the launching ceremony of the induction programme, the Minister of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity, Mrs Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, welcomed the Security Officers and underlined the crucial role they would be called upon to play, especially as part of their mission to deliver key social protection measures.<\/p>\n

Mrs Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo spelt out to the newcomers the vision of the Ministry, geared towards enhancing the quality of life of the elderly, persons with disabilities and local communities through social protection and empowerment.<\/p>\n

She stressed that the services provided by the Ministry directly impacted the daily life of thousands of people, in particular the vulnerable population.<\/p>\n

The need to consider the rapidly changing context with regards to the provision of social protection, while demonstrating dedication to the most vulnerable population was also emphasised by Minister Jeewa-Daureeawoo.<\/p>\n

She highlighted the Government\u2019s willingness to support the population with strong social measures. Moreover, Mrs Jeewa-Daureeawoo conveyed her firm belief that the personnel of the Ministry were one of the valuable assets, and as such, stated her commitment to enhance their competencies.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraining and development are vital components of human resource management and form part of the overall strategy to nurture a culture of performance,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister, the Security Officers would be expected to excel in customer service, offering the highest level of assistance to customers. She added that this called for professionalism as the Officers must be ready to respond promptly to the needs of their clients.<\/p>\n

She thus highlighted the importance of the induction programme in enabling the new recruits to settle into their role quickly, and better understand the Ministry\u2019s policies, processes and procedures.<\/p>\n
