Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>Tinder has introduced a new feature for users to go on \u201cvirtual blind dates. \u201d The dating app \u2013 which is famous for the option to match with a right swipe \u2013 has some 59 million monthly users has launched called Blind Date on their map-based Explore section that pairs members before allowing them to view each other\u2019s profiles.
\nIn a statement, Tinder said: \u201cBlind Date is a low-pressure way to put their personality first. Tinder will match you with someone else, based on your preferences but your chat is the only thing in the spotlight. Only if you both decide to match after chatting for a short period of time, are your full profiles revealed.<\/p>\n

To use the ice-breaking feature, users must answer questions such as \u201cIt\u2019s OK to wear a shirt times without washing it\u201d or \u201cI put ketchup on and their respective answers will determine their compatibly for a chat by the app.
\nAs reported by TechCrunch: \u201cTinder says the new experience better reflects the dating culture of Gen Z users, who value authenticity. During tests, Blind Date proved to be fairly successful, the company says \u2014 those who used the feature made 40% more matches than those using another Fast Chat feature where profiles were visible.<\/p>\n

This encouraged Tinder to roll out the option more broadly. \u201d Kyle Miller, VP of Product Innovation at Tinder went on to explain that there is something \u201creally special\u201d about allowing users to match based on personality, as opposed to swiping left or right based on just photographs.
\nHe said: \u201cWe\u2019ve all seen the mix of anticipation and excitement going on a blind date brought some of our favourite movie or TV characters, and we wanted to recreate that experience for today\u2019s generation with the Blind Date feature. There\u2019s something really special about letting conversation introduce someone\u2019s personality, without the preconceptions that can be made from photos.<\/p>\n
