Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>Haas boss Guenther Steiner confirms they are already focused on the design of their 2023 Formula 1 car despite the recent major upgrade at the Hungarian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

The Haas team dealt with their 2022 upgrade approach very different from other F1 teams by not making any major changes to the VF-22 early, but after gathering data during the first half of the 2022 campaign, they only applied their upgrades at the recent Hungaroring race.<\/p>\n

In an interview on the RacingNews365. com podcast, Steiner said there will be no more major updates for Haas this year as the team was switching focus on the 2023 season, with nine races still remaining this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the rest of the year, it will be very little [in terms of development],\u201d Steiner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe focus already on the 2023 car [for] a few months. We still do some little work on the \u201922 car, but we\u2019re looking always a little bit forward.<\/p>\n

Obviously, what you learn this year you carry on next year, because the regulations don\u2019t change. It was not like from \u201921 to \u201922. But we have got our sight on \u201923 [at] the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe developed this upgrade [for the 2022 car], and then we produced it. Maybe we\u2019ll come with a few small parts, but nothing [else] big for this year. \u201d Finding consistency Despite Haas\u2019 struggles for decent results over the past few years, Steiner confirmed their focus was to find consistency going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing back in \u201922 with the result we had in Bahrain (fifth place with Kevin Magnussen), it was very good for the team, mainly because [for] a lot of people last year it was difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel,\u201d Steiner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFortunately, or because of the hard work of the design and aero department, we got a good car out there for this year, and we bounced back. I think what we need to work now on is to stabilise our performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had the first two [races] good, and we had five or six races not so good, then we had again good races, now we had again a few bad races, so we need to find a happy medium there.<\/p>\n
