Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan proceeded with a soft launch of the Pakistan Week 2022, to be held from 02 to 08 September 2022, and with a flag hoisting ceremony, this morning, in Floreal, in the context of the celebrations of the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Mauritius.<\/p>\n

At the outset, the High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Mauritius, Mr Muhammed Arshad Jan Pathan, who was present at the ceremony, congratulated all the Pakistanis around the world on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mr Pathan observed that this year marked the 55th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Mauritius, and this one-week celebration would be a great opportunity for the people of Mauritius to come and join the festivities and entertainments that the High Commission would be offering in terms of film festivals, food festivals, sports activities, among others.<\/p>\n

On this note, he thanked the authorities of Mauritius for giving him open space to organise all the activities as regards these anniversaries and encouraged the population to enjoy these festivities.<\/p>\n

High Commissioner Pathan further indicated that the President and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, had, in their message on the occasion of Pakistan\u2019s Independence Day, called for peace and unity, in particular, in the present situation where Pakistan was currently facing temporarily economic and social issues.<\/p>\n

He thereby expressed confidence that Pakistan would come out of these situations very soon as, according to him, it was a resilient nation. Speaking of the bilateral relationships that Pakistan and Mauritius shared, Mr Pathan underlined that relations had always been cordial between the two countries and they had never had any contradictory views on any international or regional issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs time passes by, I am hopeful that the relationship will grow warmer day by day, and I thank the Government of Mauritius for being supportive and attentive to Pakistan\u2019s viewpoints, thereby further strengthening these relations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Pakistan Week 2022 Festivities and entertainments that will be organised during the Pakistan Week to be held from 02 September to 08 September 2022 are as follows:<\/p>\n

02 to 04 September 2022: Pakistan Film Festival at MCine Cinemas of Trianon, Flacq and Caudan;<\/p>\n

03 September 2022: Cricket Match at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Cricket Ground Stadium;<\/p>\n

05 September 2022: Qawali\/ Sufi Night by Marifat Sufi Band Pakistan at the Serge Constantin Theatre in Vacoas;<\/p>\n

06 to 07 September: Painting and Photographic Exhibition; Handicrafts stalls and Pakistan Food Festival at the Islamic Cultural Centre in Port Louis; and<\/p>\n

08 September 2022: Musical Concert by Faisal Kapadia at the J&J Auditorium in Phoenix.<\/p>\n
