Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Mauritius Institute for Training and Development (MITD) of Rose Belle is the winner of the final Carnival Mobilisation for the 12th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l\u2019Ocean Indien (CJSOI) 2022 Games which was held, today, from Bo\u2019 Vallon Mall to Mahebourg Waterfront in Mahebourg.<\/p>\n

Following a concert at the Mahebourg Waterfront, as the prizewinner, the MITD of Rose Belle received Rs 50 000. Hamilton College Boys and En Avant La Chaux claimed the second and third place and were awarded Rs 30 000 and Rs 20 000 respectively.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Carnival Mobilisations was to create awareness among the population about the CJSOI Games which will be held in Mauritius from 04 to 11 December 2022.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, the Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram, and other personalities were present on this occasion.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Minister Toussaint highlighted that the last Carnival at Mahebourg comprised some 28 groups of young people from different regions. He pointed out that some 1 000 youths from colleges, Youth Clubs, Regional Youth Councils, and NGOs participated in the last Carnival.<\/p>\n

The Minister recalled that a series of activities were held across the country, namely at Bambous, Triolet, and St Pierre respectively prior to the Mahebourg Carnival. He called on the population, in particular the youth, to participate and support the Mauritian athletes during the 12th CJSOI Games.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Minister Toussaint informed that the Games will be held all around the island at, amongst others, Mahebourg, Blue Bay, C\u00f4te d\u2019Or, Vacoas, Phoenix, Beau Bassin, and Port Louis. Seven countries will participate in the 12th CJSOI Games, namely, Comoros, Djibouti, Mauritius, Mayotte, Madagascar, Reunion Island and Seychelles.<\/p>\n
