Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>According to our information, the American and Indian auditors of FTI Consulting have completed their verification of certain files which could have compromised the former CEO of Mauritius Telecom (MT), Sherry Singh.<\/p>\n

However, it seems that the report will not be used. And why ? A source at MT has suggested the hatchet has been buried between the Prime Minister and Sherry Singh.<\/p>\n

Contacted, a relative of the latter denies any \u201camicable arrangement\u201d. He adds: \u201cIn fact, we could not find anything against Sherry Singh because everything was approved by the board.<\/p>\n

\u201d This verification exercise would have cost several million rupees “which were therefore thrown out the window”, recalls this close friend of the ex-CEO of MT.<\/p>\n

A source at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gives a contradictory explanation to justify the non-use of the FTI Consulting report: Sherry Singh would have accepted, in return not to insist on the case of sniffing, which he recognizes that the latter contains nothing serious.<\/p>\n

The relative of the former CEO asks us: \u201cDid you hear Sherry Singh retract?\u201d And to maintain that the sniffing affair is damning for the government which has indeed committed or at least attempted to commit treason.<\/p>\n

The same source at the PMO tells us that the FTI report will, after all, not be made public because it concerns a private company, MT. However, she believes the report will be given to the relevant authorities, such as the police or the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC), and will soon be leaked to the press.<\/p>\n

Let’s wait and see. We tried in vain to speak to Maxime Sauzier, the Chairman of MT. The MT communication unit answered us: \u201cThe MT Board has taken cognizance of the full forensic and HR audit reports. MT shall follow all governance procedures and pursue the best course of action through its legal advisors.\u201d<\/p>\n
