Africa-Press<\/a> – Mauritius<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A training programme aiming to familiarise some 120 public officers of the engineering, architecture and quantity surveying fields with the fundamentals of Contract Law opened this morning in Plaine Lauzun. The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram was present on the occasion.<\/p>\n

The training, an initiative of the Ministry of National Infrastructure and Community Development, also has as objectives to give a comprehensive explanation and guidance on Contract Law and to provide an effective legal framework for contracting parties to resolve their disputes and regulate their contractual obligations.<\/p>\n

The trainer is the former Juge, Mr S. B Domah, also member of the United Nations Sub-Committee against torture. He is known for delivering and to run legal, judicial lectures and workshops both at the national and international front.<\/p>\n

In his address, Minister Hurreeram spoke of the importance for public officials to be conversant with every detail of the Contract Law so as to be able to protect themselves, the Government and the country in case of legal disputes.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction sector is faced with many challenges. The Minister thus called on the participants to carry out their work diligently without compromising on honesty and integrity and to show proof of their dedication, hard work and professionalism.<\/p>\n

The training programmes, he said, is geared towards improved performance and effective service delivery of public officers. He encouraged them to make the most of the training and to apply the key metrics of public sector performance in their daily tasks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
