Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>Members actively engaged in Kaizen from Japan Productivity Centre together with representatives of the National Productivity and Competitiveness Council (NPCC), the Ministry of Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, and the Embassy of Japan in Mauritius paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House, in Re\u0301duit.<\/p>\n

The delegation was accompanied by the Ambassador of Japan in Mauritius, Mr Shuichiro Kawaguchi, and the Executive Director of the NPCC , Mrs Sandhya Boygah.
\nIn a statement, the Japanese Ambassador said that the purpose of the visit of the delegates from Japan Productivity Centre was to assess and promote quality and productivity improvement known as Kaizen on the African continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cMauritius,\u201d he pointed out, \u201cis doing very well at the Kaizen level,\u201d. He affirmed that during the current visit, more focus would be laid on service industry areas.<\/p>\n

As for Mrs Boygah, she underlined that Kaizen was a management philosophy to bring continuous improvement in quality and productivity. \u201cSince the creation of the NPCC in 2000, Kaizen has been implemented in several organisations,\u201d she indicated.<\/p>\n

She added that the Government of Japan had been extending multiple support to Mauritius in terms of training, expertise and finance to better implement Kaizen since 2006.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Japanese delegation,\u201d she remarked, \u201cis in Mauritius to study and better support Mauritian organisations which have implemented Kaizen on a pilot basis.<\/p>\n

\u201d \u201cThe team will also carry out researches and present findings to indicate the current status of Kaizen in Mauritius and how to better implement it to enhance productivity,\u201d she underscored.<\/p>\n
