Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>YouTube has said it has \u201csuspended monetisation\u201d on Russell Brand\u2019s channel for \u201cviolating\u201d its \u201ccreator responsibility policy\u201d. The online platform said it was taking action \u201cto protect\u201d its users.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Police has received a report of an alleged sexual assault in 2003 in the wake of media allegations about the star. Over the weekend the comedian and actor was accused of rape and sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013, which he denies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a creator\u2019s off-platform behaviour harms our users, employees or ecosystem, we take action,\u201d said a YouTube spokesperson on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In recent years the former TV and radio personality has re-positioned himself, posting regular videos about spirituality and politics to his millions of followers.<\/p>\n
