Africa-Press – Mauritius. <\/strong><\/span>The Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister for Rodrigues, Outer Islands and Territorial Integrity, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, received, at his Office, at the New Treasury Building, in Port Louis, today, the Chairman of Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of SK Inc.<\/p>\n

, Mr Tae-won Chey. In a statement, Mr Chey said that several topics, such as the promotion of tourism, were on the agenda of the meeting with the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

Discussions focussed too on collaboration in the blue economy sector as both countries had a considerable share of sea expanse, and on the exchange of experiences on issues such as port development and aquafarming, among others.<\/p>\n

The expertise of the Republic of Korea in the field of infrastructure was also at the forefront of the meeting. Both Parties talked as well on potential areas of collaboration namely energy, ICT, logistics, and Mauritius as a gateway to Africa for investments.<\/p>\n

Since March 2021, Mr Tae-won Chey is the Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He serves as the Chairman of SK Inc. , overseeing the more than 200 companies within the SK brand, spanning the energy, chemicals, telecommunications, semiconductor, biopharmaceuticals, and trading services industries.<\/p>\n
